Once upon a time Saint Paul was a tiny medieval village atop the hill, looking at the Mediterranean sea, surrounded by large remparts…
and then many painters like Matisse, Chagall, Duffy but as well poets like Jacques Prévert or singers like Yves Montand… fell in love with this little jewel, the medieval village, long lunches, and absence of drive-thrus really made it seem like you are gone back in time… It’s always a pleasure to stroll through the narrow streets with cobblestones.
The opening of the film studios “La Victorine” in Nice and the creation of the film festivals in Cannes attracted many celebrities national and international, Catherine Deneuve, Roger Moore.. and Saint Paul became “the place to be”.
Nowadays Saint Paul is the 3rd most visited place in France and it is considered an open-air museum.
Back on the hills of Nice stop in a family “Domaine” to visit vineyards and tasting of 3 organic wines, produced and sold only here !
Sure you will enjoy the flavor of local grapes like… the crazy black, the roll…
